Circulation/Overdue Policies   

(Students, Staff, Parents)

Overdue fines are not charged, but students must replace or pay for a lost or damaged book.
Refunds will be made if the book is found before it has been replaced or before the beginning of the next school year (which ever is earlier).

STUDENTS:

Students are welcome to use the library any time the library is open and staffed.
Library materials are checked out for 1 week for K - 2; 2 weeks for 3 - 5.
Items may be renewed once (or longer with special permission).
Reference materials may be checked out at the end of the day but must be returned the following morning.
Items that circulate: books, magazines, books on tape, vertical file, furry friend and mixed-media kits, science kits, maps.
Items for library use only: videos and software.
Only 2 books on the same topic or by the same author may be checked out at one time. Students are welcomed to return books at any time and may check out additional books then.
Students in K - 2 may check out 3 books.  Students in 3 - 5 may check out 5 books.
Item limits do not apply when materials are needed for school reports.

STAFF:

Library materials are checked out for 1 month.
Staff may check out any item available in the library.
There is no limit to the number of items that may be checked out, however, it is requested that discretion be used when taking multiple titles in one subject area.

PARENTS:

Parents are welcome to use the library. If they don't have their own number, they may check out items under their child's name. 
Items may be checked out for two weeks.
All library materials may be checked out by parents with the exception of software.
Parenting materials provided by the PTSA are available. These items are checked out on an honor system.
